From Our Job Notes
Belling Repairs We’ve Carried Out
A few real Belling jobs from around Canberra — what the customer noticed, what was actually wrong, and how it was fixed.
Belling dual-fuel cooker, Giralang
What the customer saw: The lower oven wouldn’t heat.
What we found: The lower oven’s fan element had failed. The upper oven’s door handle was also loose.
What we did: Replaced the fan element, secured the loose handle and tested the cooker functions.
Belling dual-fuel cooker, Curtin
What the customer saw: The lower-left oven was burning food.
What we found: The thermostat wasn’t switching the heating off when the oven reached its set temperature.
What we did: Replaced the thermostat and a missing grill knob, then tested the oven to confirm the thermostat switched off at temperature.
Belling electric cooker, Cavan
What the customer saw: The rear-right hotplate intermittently stopped working, and the customer asked for the oven’s fan element to be replaced.
What we found: The hotplate itself worked, but its energy regulator needed replacing. A faulty oven switch was also found at the return visit.
What we did: Replaced the fan element, hotplate energy regulator and oven switch, then tested operation.
Belling induction freestanding cooker, Theodore
What the customer saw: Water collected inside the oven during cooking and leaked onto the floor.
What we found: Condensation was collecting inside the oven, and the technician suspected the door seal was restricting steam from escaping.
What we did: Adjusted the cooker’s level so condensation flowed towards the rear, then returned to replace the door seal. The customer was asked to monitor for any recurrence.
Belling Mini Richmond induction cooker, Downer
What the customer saw: A crackling sound when using the induction hotplates, and an intermittent E6 error.
What we found: Loose wiring and bridge connections at the terminal block were making intermittent contact. Separate damage around the oven door fixing was stopping the door sealing properly.
What we did: Corrected the electrical connections and confirmed the crackling stopped during testing. The door and frame damage wasn’t economical to repair, so we recommended replacing the cooker.
Belling rangehood, Florey
What the customer saw: The lights only stayed on while the light button was held down.
What we found: A broken plastic locking tab was stopping the button from staying pressed. The fan and other buttons worked.
What we did: Adjusted the button to restore operation and recommended a replacement button board. At the return visit it was still working, and the customer chose to keep the supplied board for later.

Who Turns Up
Local Technicians You Can Trust
GBRS has been repairing appliances for Canberra homes since 2015, from a base in Fyshwick. The person at your door is one of our own technicians — not a subcontractor you've never heard of.
The people who turn up
Qualified, and kept current
Among our technicians are degree-qualified engineers, electricians, electronics specialists and several Cert IV holders — useful on electric and induction cookers, which are fixed electrical equipment. We work from Belling’s current parts books and service manuals, and as an authorised agent we can go to Glen Dimplex, Belling’s Australian distributor, when a cooker needs it.
Reviews we don't get to write
Every completed GBRS job triggers a feedback request through ServiceM8, and this feed is what comes back — across every appliance type and brand we repair. We don't write the reviews, pick which ones appear or take any down.
