What We’ve Found Diagnosing Solt Error Codes
These are codes and indicators from our own Solt jobs around Canberra and what we found when diagnosing them. The flashing Glass light has had different causes in different dishwashers — a code tells us where to start looking, not which part has failed. If you have a code, tell us when you book — it helps us prepare for the visit.
| Code | Appliance | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| E2 | GGSTLW55B top-loading washing machine | A blockage at the drain pump spindle. Clearing it restored drainage during testing. |
| Flashing Glass light | GGSDW6012 series dishwashers | In one dishwasher, significant flooding with a suspected leak at the wash pump and heater seal, and pump corrosion. In another, a damaged drain-pump impeller causing slow drainage, with signs of overflow. |

Solt Repairs We’ve Carried Out
A few real Solt jobs from around Canberra — what the customer noticed, what was actually wrong, and how it was fixed.
Solt heat-pump dryer, Holt
What the customer saw: The drum wouldn’t turn.
What we found: A snapped drum belt. The drum turned smoothly by hand and the lint filter was clean.
What we did: Replaced the belt and tested the dryer, including turning and heating.
Solt top-loading washing machine, Gilmore
What the customer saw: An E2 error, and water not draining properly.
What we found: A blockage at the drain pump spindle.
What we did: Removed the blockage and ran the washer through a cycle, confirming it drained each time.
Solt dishwasher, Casey
What the customer saw: The dishwasher seemed stuck on the glass cycle.
What we found: Signs of water having collected in the base, and a sink drainage spigot that hadn’t been drilled out enough.
What we did: Opened up the spigot properly and tested the dishwasher. It drained correctly, with no leaks during testing.
Solt refrigerator, Narrabundah
What the customer saw: The fridge compartment wasn’t cooling.
What we found: The freezer fan wasn’t running, so cold air wasn’t reaching the fridge compartment. There was no air-duct blockage.
What we did: Diagnosed the failed fan and reported the repair to Residentia, who arranged a replacement appliance instead.
Solt refrigerator, Monash
What the customer saw: The refrigerator wouldn’t turn on.
What we found: A faulty extension lead, not a fault in the refrigerator.
What we did: Confirmed the refrigerator ran on a working power connection and recommended plugging it straight into a suitable outlet.
Examples from individual jobs. Similar symptoms can have different causes; diagnosis confirms the repair required.

Who Turns Up
Local Technicians You Can Trust
GBRS has been repairing appliances for Canberra homes since 2015, from a base in Fyshwick. The person at your door is one of our own technicians — not a subcontractor you've never heard of.
The people who turn up
Qualified, and kept current
Between them, our technicians bring engineering degrees, electrical and electronics backgrounds and multiple Cert IV qualifications. Solt parts come to us direct from Residentia, and we can go to Residentia for service information when an appliance needs it.
Reviews we don't get to write
Every completed GBRS job triggers a feedback request through ServiceM8, and this feed is what comes back — across every appliance type and brand we repair. We don't write the reviews, pick which ones appear or take any down.
