We repair ILVE appliances in your home across Canberra and Queanbeyan:
From Our Job Records
What We’ve Found Diagnosing ILVE Error Codes
These are codes from our own ILVE jobs around Canberra and what we found when diagnosing them. Note that E4 has meant different things on different ILVE appliances. If you have a code, tell us when you book — it helps us prepare for the visit.
| Code | Appliance | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| E4 | Dishwashers | A flooding or water-in-the-base alert with several causes in our jobs: an inlet valve letting the dishwasher fill while idle, and a leaking wash-pump hose clamp. Sometimes the leak hasn’t reproduced during the visit. |
| E3 | Induction cooktops, including P12FIDNE3/MGB | A failed induction zone, in our case with a popping sound and an electrical smell. Replacing the induction module, then completing ILVE’s configuration procedure, fixed it. |
| E4 | Induction cooktops, including P12FIDNE3/MGB | Appeared after a replacement induction module was fitted, until ILVE’s configuration procedure was applied. |
From Our Job Notes
ILVE Repairs We’ve Carried Out
A few real ILVE jobs from around Canberra — what the customer noticed, what was actually wrong, and how it was fixed.
ILVE freestanding oven, Wanniassa
What the customer saw: Food cooking unevenly, problems with the oven door hinges and oven lights needing replacement.
What we found: A faulty bottom heating element and a broken right-hand door hinge. The top and fan elements tested correctly.
What we did: Replaced the bottom element, both door hinges and the oven globes, then tested the repair.
ILVE induction cooktop on a freestanding cooker, Gordon
What the customer saw: The front induction zone made a popping sound, stopped working and produced an electrical smell.
What we found: The front zone displayed E3 and needed a replacement induction module. After replacement, E4 appeared and further configuration was needed.
What we did: Replaced the front induction module and applied ILVE’s configuration procedure. The cooktop then operated correctly.
ILVE integrated dishwasher, Canberra City
What the customer saw: The dishwasher stopped during a cycle, despite the filter having been cleaned.
What we found: A restricted sink drainage connection and a weak wash-pump capacitor. The dishwasher filled, but the wash pump only buzzed instead of running.
What we did: Cleared the drainage connection, replaced the wash-pump capacitor and tested the dishwasher. All functions worked correctly.
ILVE integrated refrigerator, Denman Prospect
What the customer saw: The refrigerator would not switch on.
What we found: Power was reaching the refrigerator and display panel, but the on/off control was unresponsive.
What we did: Replaced the main board and display board. The first replacement display also needed replacing; once the next board was fitted, all buttons operated.
ILVE under-cupboard rangehood, Canberra City
What the customer saw: The extractor fan would not respond when the buttons were pressed.
What we found: The components tested correctly, but the control switch was faulty.
What we did: Replaced the switch and tested the rangehood successfully.
ILVE built-in microwave, Belconnen
What the customer saw: The start button had sunk into the panel, although it could still operate.
What we found: A broken button stalk and a twisted button frame.
What we did: Made a temporary repair and identified the replacement start button and frame needed for a permanent repair.

Who Turns Up
Local Technicians You Can Trust
GBRS has been repairing appliances for Canberra homes since 2015, from a base in Fyshwick. The person at your door is one of our own technicians — not a subcontractor you've never heard of.
The people who turn up
Qualified, and kept current
Among our technicians are degree-qualified engineers, electricians, electronics specialists and holders of several Cert IV qualifications. We keep up with changes across the ILVE range, and as an authorised ILVE agent we can work with ILVE directly when an appliance needs it — as we did when configuring a replacement induction module.
Reviews we don't get to write
Every completed GBRS job triggers a feedback request through ServiceM8, and this feed is what comes back — across every appliance type and brand we repair. We don't write the reviews, pick which ones appear or take any down.
