From Our Job Notes

Falcon Repairs We’ve Carried Out

A few real Falcon jobs from around Canberra — what the customer noticed, what was actually wrong, and how it was fixed.

Falcon Professional+ FXP dual-fuel cooker, Queanbeyan East

What the customer saw: The oven wasn’t heating properly.

What we found: The function switch had snapped internally. Some elements weren’t operating, and the indicator light glowed dimly even when switched off.

What we did: Replaced the function switch and tested the oven functions. All elements tested correctly.

Falcon FX 90 dual-fuel cooker, Nicholls

What the customer saw: Two cooktop burners weren’t igniting reliably.

What we found: A strand of metal swarf was shorting one ignition electrode. On the other burner, the spark was reaching the burner body rather than the correct ignition point.

What we did: Removed the metal swarf, cleaned the other ignition terminal and refitted the burner body. Both burners then sparked and lit correctly.

Falcon Elan 90 dual-fuel cooker, Yarralumla

What the customer saw: Some cooktop burners wouldn’t light.

What we found: Debris in the rear-right burner’s passage. The cooker also rocked, and the front-right burner had an excessively high flame.

What we did: Cleaned the burner and cleared ash from its passage, then cleaned the remaining burners. Ignition was restored and the cooker levelled, and we advised that the high flame needed adjustment by a licensed gas fitter.

Falcon Classic Deluxe 110 dual-fuel cooker, Nicholls

What the customer saw: The oven door latch was broken.

What we found: The door needed a replacement latch to hold it closed.

What we did: Installed the replacement latch and confirmed the door closed and stayed closed.

Falcon Nexus 110 Steam induction cooker, Murrumbateman

What the customer saw: The induction cooktop was bent.

What we found: Inspection confirmed the damage to the cooktop assembly.

What we did: Replaced the cooktop assembly supplied by the manufacturer. Operational testing couldn’t be completed because the property had no power at the time.

Falcon rangehood, Downer

What the customer saw: Both rangehood lights had stopped working.

What we found: Power was reaching the light sockets, and all fan speeds worked correctly. Both light globes needed replacing.

What we did: Replaced both globes with the correct size and tested the lights. Both worked correctly.

Examples from individual jobs. Similar symptoms can have different causes; diagnosis confirms the repair required.

Qualified, and kept current

Our team includes degree-qualified engineers, electronics specialists, electricians and holders of multiple Cert IV qualifications — which matters on range cookers, because they’re fixed electrical equipment. We work from Falcon’s current parts books and service manuals, and as an authorised agent we can go to Falcon’s Australian distributor, Andi-Co, when a cooker needs it.

What customers say about our oven and cooktop repairs

From our Google reviews, in the customers’ own words.

★★★★★

“Had an excellent experience with the Ginger Beard Repair Service! Tait was very communicative, explained the issue and solution in depth and installed a bypass to allow my oven to work while we wait for the part to be delivered. He also fixed a broken hob switch while testing the oven that had been driving me mad for weeks. Highly recommend the team and will be calling them again in the future!”
