Robinhood Repairs We’ve Carried Out
A few real Robinhood jobs from around Canberra — what the customer noticed, what was actually wrong, and how it was fixed.
Robinhood slide-out rangehood, Canberra City
What the customer saw: A plastic piece had broken off, leaving the slide-out drawer hanging down on one side.
What we found: The left plastic side panel had broken around its screw fittings. The fan and lights still worked.
What we did: Removed the rangehood, replaced the side panel and secured it back in position, then tested the drawer, fan settings and lights.

What the customer saw: The light flickered, the lowest fan speed didn’t work and the rangehood was noisy.
What we found: The light button was sticking, and the power module wasn’t supplying power to the motor on the lowest setting. The extra noise came from the ducting.
What we did: Replaced the button board and power module, and confirmed all three fan speeds worked and the light button no longer stuck.

What the customer saw: The fan blade had split, and the rangehood was very noisy when running.
What we found: A damaged fan blade. The motor and lights still worked.
What we did: Gave the customer repair and replacement options. They chose replacement, so we removed the old rangehood, installed the new one and tested both fan speeds and the lights.

What the customer saw: A loud noise when the rangehood ran.
What we found: The noise came from the motor; the fan blades spun freely without rubbing on anything.
What we did: The warranty provider decided to replace the appliance, so we removed the old rangehood, installed the replacement and confirmed both fan speeds and the lights worked without unusual noise.

What the customer saw: A loud buzzing or grinding noise partway through the wash, apparently from the pump.
What we found: No obstruction in the drain pump, and the noise didn’t occur during testing.
What we did: Removed and inspected the drain pump, then ran filling, washing, heating and draining checks. We asked the customer to monitor it and call us if the noise returned.

The technician tests the appliance, finds the cause and explains the cost before any repair work starts.

Many faults are finished on the spot. If a part is needed we order it and book a return visit — no second Service Call Fee.
Test and follow up
We test the appliance before closing the job, then follow up two weeks later to confirm all is well.

In short: booked online, a repair visit starts at $235 including GST: the $135 Service Call Fee plus $100 for the first 30 minutes of labour. After that, labour is $16.67 per 5 minutes, capped at 2.5 hours per appliance, and any parts are quoted before they’re ordered. Pay in person by card at the end of the visit and you save a further 2.5% on labour.
