What We’ve Found Diagnosing Hisense Error Codes
These are codes from our own Hisense jobs around Canberra and what we found when diagnosing them. Several appear on both Hisense washers and heat-pump dryers, and a code tells us where to start looking, not which part has failed. If you have a code, tell us when you book — it helps us prepare for the visit.
| Code | Appliance | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| F08 | Washing machines and heat-pump dryers, including HWFS8514E and HDFS90HAB | In the jobs we’ve diagnosed, F08 has led to motor replacements and, in another case, a drum fault. |
| F21 | Washing machines and the HDFS90HAB dryer | A control or display board fault, or a communication problem between boards — on one HWFS1015AB washer the main board was visibly burnt. |
| F03 | Washing machines and washer-dryers | A draining fault: a failed drain pump, or an object (in one case metal) blocking the pump. |
| F22 | HDFS90HAB dryers and the HWFS7514S washer | A motor or motor-communication fault; in the jobs we’ve diagnosed, replacing the motor restored operation. |

Hisense Repairs We’ve Carried Out
A few real Hisense jobs from around Canberra — what the customer noticed, what was actually wrong, and how it was fixed.
Hisense front-load washing machine, Barton
What the customer saw: F08 appeared at the start of a cycle, and the drum would not turn.
What we found: The motor assembly required replacement. Electrical connectors were seated correctly, with no evidence of internal leaking.
What we did: Replaced the motor assembly. The drum rotated and reached full spin speed, with no errors during testing.
Hisense washer-dryer, Yass
What the customer saw: F03 appeared, and the machine could not drain properly.
What we found: The hoses, filter and pump spindle were clear. The drain pump had failed.
What we did: Replaced the pump and tested filling, washing, repeated drainage and spinning. The washer functions passed testing.
Hisense dishwasher, Garran
What the customer saw: Cups and plates remained dirty, with residue after washing.
What we found: Rice and seeds were blocking numerous spray-arm holes. The filter and filter plate also had buildup.
What we did: Cleaned both spray arms and the filters, checked filling, washing, heating and drainage, and started a descale cycle. All tested functions worked without leaks.
Hisense heat-pump dryer, Gordon
What the customer saw: The door would not latch or stay closed.
What we found: The door-latch assembly required replacement.
What we did: Replaced it and ran a timed drying cycle. The door latched correctly, the drum turned, the pump engaged and the dryer heated.
Hisense refrigerator, Kaleen
What the customer saw: The fridge and freezer were not cooling properly.
What we found: Ice was blocking the left freezer’s air vents and stopping its fan. The defrost heaters tested correctly.
What we did: Replaced the main control board, cleared the ice and adjusted temperature settings. The fan ran and cold air flowed into the fridge again; the customer was asked to monitor temperatures.
Hisense front-load washing machine, Denman Prospect
What the customer saw: Auto-dose was not dispensing detergent; only clear water entered the drum.
What we found: No blockage or damage was found in the internal hose.
What we did: Replaced the power board and tested with detergent. Detergent entered the drum, and washing, spinning and drainage worked. Further dispenser work was recommended if the problem returned.

Who Turns Up
Local Technicians You Can Trust
GBRS has been repairing appliances for Canberra homes since 2015, from a base in Fyshwick. The person at your door is one of our own technicians — not a subcontractor you've never heard of.
The people who turn up
Qualified, and kept current
The team includes degree-qualified engineers, electricians, electronics specialists and several Cert IV holders. We keep our Hisense service information up to date as the range changes, and as an authorised Hisense agent we can take a problem straight to Hisense when an appliance calls for it.
Reviews we don't get to write
Every completed GBRS job triggers a feedback request through ServiceM8, and this feed is what comes back — across every appliance type and brand we repair. We don't write the reviews, pick which ones appear or take any down.
