What We’ve Found Diagnosing Haier Error Codes
These are codes from our own Haier jobs around Canberra and what we found when diagnosing them. The same code can have more than one cause — our two F30 dishwashers had completely different faults — so diagnosis always comes first. If you have a code, tell us when you book — it helps us prepare for the visit.
| Code | Appliance | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| F30 | Dishwashers, including HDW15V2B2 and HDW13V1W1 | A water leak or drainage fault. One had a completely blocked drainage spigot; another had a leaking diverter hose that appeared to have been chewed by mice. |
| FC1 | Washing machines, including HWF90BW1 and HWF85BW1 | A persistent fault after checking the connections. Our diagnosis pointed to the power and motor-control modules in one machine, and the motor board and motor in another. |
| F34 | HDHP90AN1 heat-pump dryer | A damaged, burnt heater box, with lint build-up suspected as a contributor. Replacing the heater box restored heating. |
| FD | HWDX1590CTB1 washer-dryer | A tripped thermal safety switch at the start of drying; the heating element and thermostat tested correctly. |
| F32 | HDC80E1 condenser dryer | The motor, capacitor, wiring and heater tested fine; the fault traced back to the main and display boards. |

Haier Repairs We’ve Carried Out
A few real Haier jobs from around Canberra — what the customer noticed, what was actually wrong, and how it was fixed.
Haier dishwasher, Murrumbateman
What the customer saw: The dishwasher displayed F30.
What we found: Water was leaking from the hose between the sump and upper spray arm. The hose appeared to have been chewed by mice.
What we did: Replaced the diverter hose and clamps, then tested washing, heating and drainage. No leaks were detected.
Haier front-load washing machine, Canberra City
What the customer saw: The retaining spring around the door seal had come off.
What we found: The spring needed to be refitted.
What we did: Refitted it and tested filling, washing, draining and spinning. The washer passed testing without leaks.
Haier heat-pump dryer, Kambah
What the customer saw: F34 appeared, and smoke came out when the door was opened.
What we found: The heater box was damaged and burnt at a relay. The technician suspected lint buildup had contributed.
What we did: Removed accessible lint, replaced the heater box and tested operation and heating. The dryer passed testing; the customer was asked to monitor it.
Haier washer-dryer, Wamboin
What the customer saw: FD appeared at the start of drying, while washing still worked.
What we found: The thermal safety switch had tripped. The heating element and thermostat tested correctly.
What we did: Reset the safety switch and ran drying for 20 minutes without the fault returning, and recommended further work if the fault came back.
Haier French-door refrigerator, Monash
What the customer saw: The display stopped working.
What we found: Wires had broken where the harness passed through the door hinge.
What we did: Soldered and insulated the wires, repositioning the harness so the repaired joints were away from the hinge. The display and buttons worked again.
Haier quad-door refrigerator, Michelago
What the customer saw: The water dispenser continued dripping after use.
What we found: The dispenser paddle or the hose through the door was suspected.
What we did: Replaced the paddle and primed the filter. No dripping or leaks appeared during testing; the customer was asked to monitor it.

Who Turns Up
Local Technicians You Can Trust
GBRS has been repairing appliances for Canberra homes since 2015, from a base in Fyshwick. The person at your door is one of our own technicians — not a subcontractor you've never heard of.
The people who turn up
Qualified, and kept current
Between them, our technicians hold engineering degrees, electronics experience, electrical qualifications and several Cert IV qualifications. We stay current with Haier’s service manuals as new models arrive, and being an authorised Haier agent means we can raise a repair with Haier directly when it’s needed.
Reviews we don't get to write
Every completed GBRS job triggers a feedback request through ServiceM8, and this feed is what comes back — across every appliance type and brand we repair. We don't write the reviews, pick which ones appear or take any down.
