What We’ve Found Diagnosing Fisher & Paykel Error Codes
These are codes from our own Fisher & Paykel jobs around Canberra and what we found when diagnosing them. A code tells us where to start looking, not which part has failed, and the same code can mean different things on different appliances: on DishDrawers A3 has led us to draining faults, but on one wall oven we repaired it was the door lock. If you have a code, tell us when you book — it helps us prepare for the visit.
| Code | Appliance | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| F1 | DishDrawers, including DS603 and DD60 models | A flooding alert. Causes we’ve found include worn or warped lid seals, a leaking heater seal, a loose water connection and excess detergent suds; in other cases, a drainage or control fault. |
| A3 | DD60 DishDrawers | Draining problems: a blocked sink spigot, a restricted drain hose or connector, or a damaged or worn rotor, including rotors damaged by broken glass. |
| F20 / 20 beeps | French-door refrigerators, including RF610A and RF522ADUSX4 | In the refrigerators we’ve diagnosed: broken, pinched or intermittent wiring to the door’s flapper heater, with the heater itself testing fine. Where the wiring fault was inside the door, the repair was a replacement door. |
| A6 | DD60 DishDrawers | Not filling enough because of a faulty inlet valve, or damaged rotor or motor parts affecting the wash. |
| 37 / Err 37 | Washing machines, including IW712, IW812 and WH7560J2 | A drain pump that had overheated or stopped turning, in some cases with fluff wrapped around it. |
| F24 | DD60 DishDrawers, including DD60SCW9 and DD60SCTX9 | A rotor damaged by broken glass, or faulty motor windings. |

Fisher & Paykel Repairs We’ve Carried Out
A few real Fisher & Paykel jobs from around Canberra — what the customer noticed, what was actually wrong, and how it was fixed.
Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer, Turner
What the customer saw: Water pooling in the drawer and an A3 error.
What we found: Broken glass beneath the rotor had damaged its fins.
What we did: Removed the glass, replaced the rotor and tested a cycle. The dishwasher filled, washed, heated and drained correctly.
Fisher & Paykel front-load washing machine, Griffith
What the customer saw: The washing machine would not drain, and the door remained locked.
What we found: A blockage at the drain-pump spindle. The drain hose and sink connection were clear.
What we did: Removed the blockage and tested filling, washing, draining and spinning. We also showed the customer how to clean the filter and use the manual door release.
Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer, Lyneham
What the customer saw: The drawer had to be forced closed before a wash cycle would start.
What we found: The installation fixings and excess drain hose were interfering with the drawer’s movement.
What we did: Secured the drain hose clear of the drawer and refitted the dishwasher using alternative fixing points. The drawer closed properly and the appliance passed its cycle checks.
Fisher & Paykel vented dryer, Canberra City
What the customer saw: The dryer’s drum would not turn.
What we found: The motor capacitor was reading below its required capacity.
What we did: Removed the wall-mounted dryer, replaced the capacitor and tested it. The drum turned and the dryer heated correctly.
Fisher & Paykel wall oven, Ngunnawal
What the customer saw: The oven’s door lock was stuck, and an A3 error appeared.
What we found: The door-lock mechanism required replacement.
What we did: Replaced the door-lock motor, door switch and thermal overload, then tested the oven on fan-forced mode. The A3 error cleared.
Fisher & Paykel rangehood, Michelago
What the customer saw: The rangehood lights flickered, particularly at the lowest brightness setting.
What we found: The original globes were faulty. The fan and its speed settings worked correctly.
What we did: Tested the dimming function with known-good globes, confirmed the flickering stopped and advised the customer on suitable replacement globes.
